On my first trip to the UK, so many years ago my friends kidded that I would return with an English accent. Arriving in England I could only wonder to myself, which English accent would I speak? I was aware of the Irish accent, English accent and the Scottish accent, what I had not realized was that accents across Britain varied tremendously, in large cities the variation in accents can vary in a few blocks.
This is another one of those pages with little content at the moment but here is some British English to keep you amused:
"Before heading out in the morning for you car journey to public school, make certain you put on your pants and vest, then trousers with braces, do not forget your trainers and a mac might be a good idea. Oh, and by the way, watch out for that sleeping policeman on Russell St."
The American English Translation would read, "Before heading out in the morning for a road trip to private school (yep, their public school is what we call a private school), make certain you put on your underwear and undershirt, then pants with suspenders, do not forget your tennis shoes and a rain coat might be a good idea. Oh, and by the way, watch out for the speed bump on Russell St."
